of the island of Hjalton
Paradise bay
This
picture is taken from the shore of the Paradise Bay at Hjalton. Hjalton is
situated in the fjord Borgilefjorden at about half way from Uddevalla to Lysekil.
The distance from Uddevalla is about 12 nautical miles. It has a beautiful
forest and mountains. There are two great bays with sandy shores called Paradise
Bay and Preacher's Bay. In the second one there's an old pier, where a couple of
boats can land. In July the Paradise Bay is crowded with yachts from Germany,
Norway and Denmark mixed with local people from the nearby place Henan, who go
there to take a swim . It can be quite overwhelming. In the fall and spring it's
different. We often go there then in Pia II. On the island there are lovely
paths through the forest, beautiful views and a lot of chantarelles and berries.
